Douglas H. Kim is a 1.5 generation immigrant, who exclusively practices immigration law in Charlotte, North Carolina. Due to the fact that immigration law is a federal law, he can and has been helping clients anywhere within all 50 states as well as throughout the world. He counsels and provides legal services for clients who wish to enter and reside in the United States legally. He has firsthand experience of the problems and hardships the first generation immigrants endure. Therefore, he can empathize and provide practical legal solutions and guidance.

MISC. INFORMATION ABOUT THE ATTORNEY
He was educated in the United Stated since elementary school. Thus, he understands the American educational system (F1, M1, J1, EB1, EB2, and Change of Status). This background enables him to provide legal and educational advice to foreign students and children of immigrants.
He had an import/export trading business in Chile and Argentina with South Korea and the United States. This experience equips him to provide insightful and beneficial legal solutions for immigrants or potential immigrants about business opportunities and solid legal protection (E1, E2, & EB5) for establishing businesses in the United States.
He had a managerial position for overseeing the South American market for a large global company. Thus, he has a firsthand knowledge of intracompany transfer of employees relocating in and out of the United States (L1, B1, H1B, EB1 , EB2 , etc.). In addition, his duties included creating and reviewing international contracts.
He believes in getting to know his clients as individuals, not just as business contacts. Due to the fact that the attorney lived and worked in different parts of the world, he understands and respects the cultures of different nationalities. He spends time with his clients to understand what their needs and goals are for short-term and long-term. By understanding the client's situations in detail, he will determine what the most effective and safest legal solutions are for that particular client. In immigration law, attorney's letters along with properly filed applications are integral factors of successful outcomes. The attorney can write convincing letters with more detailed information about the clients only when he truly understands the client's situations. The attorney also speaks Korean and Spanish fluently. The Attorney is a licensed California Attorney and a member of the American Immigration Attorneys Association (AILA).
